Greetings friend! This is an original poem meant for music, addressing my experiences in life, love, wisdom and enlightenment. May it tell you a little about me, while also inspiring the love in us all.
Displaced, Defunct, Delusional.
Three words that might describe me
A pain in the ass, But at least I’ve got class
Though a pain I might very well be
Since I was born I’ve had pain
Lost my parents at five
They just up and died.
Now it’s just me hanging around.
Pain? What pain?
From the body to the brain
I’ve got pain.
But it’s not what you’ve got
It’s what you have not
That truly causes you pain
Once as a teen
You’d think it a dream
But no, still more pain
Just after ten I was hit once again
But this time by a classy Cadillac
At the great Pearly Gates
I was pulled back quite late
And didn’t finish my chat with God.
I awoke on a slab
Which was really a drag
As my pain returned once again.
Pain? What pain?
From the body to the brain
I’ve got pain.
But it’s not what you’ve got
It’s what you have not
That truly causes you pain
So when I almost lost my leg
I had to learn how to walk again
They filled me with pills
And said “You’ve got this”
So I returned to people again
But something had changed
Was it the pain?
Or was it the pain of not knowing?
Try though I might
I never could fight
The pain that just kept growing
Pain? What pain?
From the body to the brain
I’ve got pain.
But it’s not what you’ve got
It’s what you have not
That truly causes you pain
It’s not what you’ve got
It’s what you have not
That truly causes the pain
Now I have love
Now I have family
Do I still have pain?
You know it!
But now that you know,
Together we grow
And the pain becomes more bearable
